Australian Transistor Radios

	Here are some of my AM radios. My collection is of Australian manufacturers who mostly all disappeared from the market with the introduction of FM broadcasting in 1975. The manufacturers lobbied the government to introduce FM on the UHF band which would have given them a supply monopoly. When the decision was made to use the international VHF band, they could not compete with the Japanese. These radios generally have all the station callsigns for one or two states printed on the dial and some method of changing the dial for the other states. The early models were still built like valve radios with point-to-point wiring. Printed circuit boards came later.
